Encryption and Recovery Key

A recovery key is more like a lock-opening tool, not an ordinary login password. Your account proves who you are, but the key determines whether you can open certain encrypted data.

If you’re preparing to switch devices, first confirm that your recovery key or old device is still accessible. Once the old device has been wiped, finding the key will be much more difficult.

| Your Situation | What to Check First | Next Step | | --- | --- | --- | | Not sure where to start | Current page title and main entry points | Only choose one action relevant to your current goal | | Result is not as expected after an action | Status, empty states, access logs, or sync progress | Go back one level and troubleshoot step by step | | Worried about data impact | Backup, sync, account, or permissions documentation | Stop first, confirm the scope, then continue |

After reading this section, return to the task you were working on and choose only one minimal action to continue: record one entry, check one status, or open the relevant settings to complete a confirmation.
