What Does Local-First Mean
Local-first means your daily work shouldn’t stop because of network conditions. Content you create and organize on your device is saved locally first.
A Real-World Scenario
Section titled “A Real-World Scenario”When organizing tasks on the subway, you should still be able to take notes even if the network is unstable. Syncing can happen later once the connection recovers.
How to Decide What to Do Next
Section titled “How to Decide What to Do Next”| Situation | What to Check First | Next Step | | --- | --- | --- | | Not sure where to start | Current page title and main entry points | Pick only one item relevant to your current goal | | Result is wrong after an action | Status, empty hints, access history, or sync progress | Go back one level and check step by step | | Worried about affecting data | Backup, sync, account, or permission docs | Stop, confirm the scope, then continue |
Boundaries
